AI-generated captions sometimes get grouped into long caption boxes—even when words are spoken far apart. A Split tool (like the early Streamladder workflow) would let you instantly break captions (and even clips) into smaller parts without deleting, rebuilding, or re-timing everything.
Split a caption at the cursor: place your cursor between two words and click Split to move everything after the cursor into a new caption box/line.
Turn one caption line into two lines: quickly divide a single caption line into two separate lines for a cleaner on-screen layout.
Avoid tedious rework: no more deleting part of a caption, re-adding it, and manually fixing timing just to separate a phrase.
Better on-screen pacing: keep the right words together at the right time—even when the AI lumps too much into one caption.
Easier styling control: isolate a word or phrase so you can change its color (and other styling) without restructuring the entire caption.
Split directly in the Captions tab (including clips): support splitting from where people already edit captions, and make it possible to split clips in the Captions tab too.
Overall, this would make auto-generated captions feel “auto” again—saving time while giving creators more control over readability, timing, and emphasis.
